Chicago, Illinois, United StatesFull-timePosted June 15, 2026

About this role

At Ripple, we’re building a world where value moves like information does today. It’s big, it’s bold, and we’re already doing it. Through our crypto solutions for financial institutions, businesses, governments and developers, we are improving the global financial system and creating greater economic fairness and opportunity for more people, in more places around the world. And we get to do the best work of our career and grow our skills surrounded by colleagues who have our backs.

If you’re ready to see your impact and unlock incredible career growth opportunities, join us, and build real world value.

THE WORK:

As a Staff DevSecOps Engineer based, you will play a pivotal role in crafting the secure, efficient development processes that power Ripple's global financial infrastructure. Operating at the intersection of security, reliability, and developer experience, you will set the technical direction for how we build, deploy, and protect software at scale. You'll bring deep technical expertise across cloud platforms, container orchestration, and compliance frameworks — paired with a security-first approach that treats every pipeline, every deployment, and every line of infrastructure code as an opportunity to harden our systems. As a force multiplier for the engineers around you, you'll mentor junior talent, shape team-wide engineering standards, and partner with cross-functional leaders to ensure security is never an afterthought, but a foundational principle embedded in everything we ship.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Design, implement, and manage enterprise-grade CI/CD pipelines that enable seamless, reliable software delivery at scale.
  • Architect and maintain secure, resilient infrastructure employing Kubernetes and containerization best practices.
  • Drive the adoption of infrastructure as code and automated testing frameworks to accelerate deployment velocity without compromising security posture.
  • Partner with cross-functional engineering, product, and security teams to define and deliver ambitious platform improvements aligned to Ripple's roadmap.
  • Serve as a technical lead and mentor, setting the standard for junior and mid-level engineers across the DevSecOps discipline.
  • Embed security controls throughout the software development lifecycle, ensuring compliance with regulated frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
  • Champion AI-assisted development practices and agentic workflows to modernize how Ripple's engineering teams build and ship software.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

  • Proven, hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure across Azure and AWS, with a strong command of DevSecOps principles and practices.
  • Deep expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform, and container orchestration in production environments.
  • Demonstrated experience navigating regulated compliance frameworks including HIPAA, SOC 2, and PCI-DSS.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development tooling and experience designing or operating agentic workflows.
  • Strong leadership and mentorship instincts — you raise the engineering quality of everyone around you.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
  • A track record of thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments where priorities shift and execution matters.
