Web3 Backend Developers build the server-side infrastructure that powers decentralized applications, including indexers, APIs, off-chain computation, and data pipelines. They ensure dApps have reliable, fast access to blockchain data and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build APIs, indexers, and data pipelines for blockchain data
- Develop off-chain services for transaction relaying, notifications, and analytics
- Implement subgraph deployments using The Graph or custom indexing solutions
- Build and maintain infrastructure for blockchain node operation and monitoring
- Optimize database schemas and queries for high-throughput blockchain data
- Ensure system reliability, scalability, and security for production dApps
Requirements
- 3+ years of backend development experience with Node.js, Python, Go, or Rust
- Strong database skills including PostgreSQL, Redis, and time-series databases
- Experience with blockchain data indexing, event processing, and RPC interactions
- Knowledge of infrastructure and DevOps practices (Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD)
- Understanding of Web3 architecture patterns and decentralization tradeoffs
