DeFi Engineers build and maintain decentralized finance protocols — AMMs, lending markets, yield aggregators, and derivatives platforms. They combine deep Solidity expertise with financial engineering to create secure, capital-efficient protocols.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement DeFi protocol smart contracts (AMMs, lending, vaults)
- Build economic models and simulations for protocol mechanics
- Integrate with oracles, flash loan providers, and cross-chain bridges
- Optimize gas costs and capital efficiency across protocol contracts
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure protocol security
- Monitor and respond to protocol health metrics and edge cases
Requirements
- 3+ years of Solidity development with DeFi protocol experience
- Strong understanding of financial primitives (options, futures, lending)
- Experience with AMM designs (Uniswap, Curve), lending (Aave, Compound)
- Knowledge of MEV, flash loans, and economic attack vectors
- Familiarity with oracle integrations (Chainlink, Pyth) and cross-chain messaging
